My
Muse
What do you
stand for?
I stand for
the following
beliefs:
1. You know what is best for you.
2. Our natural state is one of energy, enthusiasm, loving and well-being.
3. We all have beliefs about ourselves that can inhibit our performance.
4. My role is to get the best out of people.
So when I am
working with
people, or even
just musing to
you, if you know
what I stand
for, what my
starting
position is, it
allows for
greater
understanding.
Surely the point
of communication
is
understanding,
and because we
all filter what
we hear and what
we see through
our beliefs
(yes, even YOU
do!) if I give
you my beliefs
upfront there
may be a better
chance of
understanding.
If you are
having any
communications
problems with a
difficult
person, a
colleague or
family member,
why not clearly
state where you
are coming from
so they can try
on your ‘point
of view’.

Recommendation
The
Monk who sold
his Ferrari by
Robin Sharma
What a fab
read! The blurb
reads: The Monk
Who Sold His
Ferrari is the
story of Julian
Mantle, a
superstar lawyer
whose
out-of-balance
lifestyle leads
him to an almost
fatal heart
attack in a
packed
courtroom. His
physical
collapse brings
on a spiritual
crisis that
forces him to
confront the
condition of his
life and seek
answers to life’s
most important
questions.
Hoping to find
happiness and
fulfilment, he
embarks upon an
extraordinary
odyssey to an
ancient culture,
where he
discovers an
ancient system
to release the
potential of his
mind, body and
soul and learns
to live with
greater passion,
purpose and
peace.
Brilliantly
blending
timeless
spiritual wisdom
of the East with
cutting-edge
success
principles of
the West, this
inspiring tale
shows you a
step-by-step
pathway for
living with
greater courage,
balance,
abundance and
joy.

Rett
Syndrome A
friend of mine’s
daughter has
Rett syndrome,
and he brought
the condition to
my attention. Rett
syndrome is
a complex
neurological
disorder. It
affects mainly
girls. Although
present at
birth, it
becomes more
evident during
the second year.
It could occur
in any family at
any time.
Something goes
wrong with the
genetic makeup
of the cells
which become the
baby. People
with Rett
syndrome are
profoundly and
multiply
disabled and
highly dependent
on others for
their needs
throughout their
lives.
Rett
syndrome was
first described
in 1966 by the
Austrian doctor,
Andreas Rett. It
is a complex
neurological
disorder,
genetic in
origin. It
affects mainly
girls. A few
boys also have
the condition.
At least one
in every 10,000
females born has
Rett syndrome.
It is believed
to be the second
most common
cause of severe
and profound
learning
disability in
girls. A large
proportion of
people who have Rett
syndrome
have a mutation,
or fault, on the
MECP2 gene on
the X
chromosome.
