My Muse
I’m
thinking
a
lot
about
values
at
the
moment,
because
I’m
thinking
of
writing
a
book
about
them,
as I
mentioned
last
month.
Living
our
life
according
to
one’s
own
values
leads
to
our
happiness,
but
I’ve
noticed
that
in
many
cases
we
‘overdo’
a
value
which
leads
to
results
other
than
our
happiness.
I
believe
that
values
and
the
behaviour
that
leads
from
them
are
on a
continuum.
Taking
an
example
from
my
own
life,
I
have
always
had
a
strong
independent
streak.
Looking
at a
continuum
with
independence
in
it
could
look
like
this:
Dependence
>
interdependence
>
teamwork
>
independence
>
solitude!
I
have
such
an
aversion
to
the
idea
of
dependence
that
I
tend
to
veer
too
far
the
other
way,
towards
independence
and
sometimes
I
stubbornly
refuse
to
accept
any
help
or
support
and
then
get
left
to
do
things
completely
on
my
own.
I
don’t
know
how
many
times
I’ve
missed
out
on
teamwork
and
interdependence,
but
I do
believe
I
may
be
getting
better!
I
wonder
if
you
find
that
something
similar
happened
or
happens
to
you.
You
believe
you
are
acting
in
accordance
with
what
you
believe
in,
but
you
aren’t
producing
positive
results.
Could
you
be
overdoing
it?
If
you
do,
please
let
me
know
about
it
and
I’ll
see
if I
can
support
you
to
get
it
back
into
balance.
My
News
This
month
I am
busy
writing
and
preparing
a
day’s
personal
development
workshop,
to
be
delivered
in
mid-October.
If
you
know
of
any
organisation
that
are
keen
to
invest
in
their
people,
I
could
work
with
them
to
produce
the
most
amazing
results.
