I
entered into coaching a little over a
year ago, uncertain as to whether it would
be helpful for me, but willing to try
it out. I was at a position in my life
where I had learnt a huge amount about
myself, but was struggling to put my newfound
knowledge into practice, to enable me
to make attitudinal changes and start
living every moment. It was in this spirit
that I decided to give coaching with Nick
a go - what an excellent decision! I haven't
regretted it for one second and thanks
to him, I am much more firmly in the centre
of my picture, probably for the first
time in my life.
What characterizes Nick above all else is his generosity of spirit and giving nature - but add to that an astonishing clarity and perception, and one can start to appreciate why his coaching is so powerful. It never failed to amaze me how he could focus so intently on what was occurring during each session, whilst at the same time being able to recall exactly what had taken place many sessions earlier. At the same time, the advice that was given and the tools we used were always practically orientated and geared to my lifestyle in a realistic fashion. Nor was there any hidden agenda or evangelisms - all that motivates this man is a genuine desire to help fellow human beings fulfil their true potential and lead the lives they want to. In addition, his humility, willingness to make changes and adjust his ideas along the way mean that one has a true sense of partnership and equality during the coaching. At the same time, this is someone who is not afraid to give tough love and support where it is necessary!
Thanks to Nick, I feel far better equipped to deal with the many day-to-day hurdles life places in my path - which are many! I have learnt that I can handle them without needing to get unduly stressed and overly hard on myself. I knew Nick before I entered into coaching with him, and I will admit to some trepidation about whether the coaching relationship might adversely affect our friendship. On the contrary - it has grown immeasurably, and that is possibly the greatest tribute I can give him as a coach and as one of the most wonderful people I have the fortune to know.
